At L’idée sucrée, we believe that the joy of baking is something to be shared!
Do you want to learn how to make your most beautiful pastry on your own, with friends, or with family? Discover our pastry classes specially designed for you. We organize pastry workshops in Bordeaux and its surroundings to share the secrets of the finest French pastry recipes. L’idée sucrée was born from the desire of a young pastry chef, Vincent Valton, to share his passion and expertise with as many people as possible. Our mission is to teach you, with enthusiasm and passion, how to create your favorite pastries at home like a chef!
———————
Vincent Valton’s passion for pastry originated with his grandmother and the smell of freshly baked brioche she made on Sunday mornings. His family has always had a taste for good food and homemade dishes. His older brother, passionate about French gastronomy, pursued a career in cooking. Vincent, also drawn to the culinary arts, found his calling in pastry.
At 15, he joined the Compagnons du Devoir and traveled across France. He became the Head Pastry Chef at Jardin des Sens, the three-Michelin-starred restaurant of the Pourcel brothers. These travels ignited his love for adventure. He went on to work as a pastry chef in Melbourne, New York, and then Kobe, Japan. These experiences taught him discipline and gave him a broad perspective on the world.
Upon returning to Paris, he joined the prestigious Fauchon as the head of creative development. There, he discovered his love for teaching through international franchise training. After five years, driven by his passion for sharing knowledge, he joined Le Cordon Bleu in 2017 as a Teaching Chef. Simultaneously, he participated in the TV show “Le Meilleur Pâtissier: les professionnels” on M6, which allowed him to push his creative boundaries.
Inspired by entrepreneurial ventures, he founded L’idée sucrée in January 2020 in Bordeaux to share his passion and expertise with a wider audience. During the pandemic, he became a training instructor at L’institut Culinaire de France in Bordeaux, sponsored by Pierre Hermé. Finally, in 2021, L’idée sucrée made its return!
